We open with a weird self-congratulatory scene where the crew talks about how great it is to be spending time studying science. M’Benga goes to the bridge and all of a sudden he’s got a candy necklace.We go from one character to the next, and they’re all weirdos now. This is like the bulk of the episode. If it were funny or something it might be worth it, but it’s pretty boring. There are some cool costumes though.Hemmer isn’t under the spell, he’s just as weird as usual.He frees them with science. Shame that since all their devices still work they couldn’t find any phasers or anything.Apparently an all-powerful consciousness appeared out of nothing!Eventually M’Benga gets to his daughter, who was having a playdate with the godlike entity.She checks in as an adult to let her dad know everything is cool.
