[TNG] Season 7, Episode 23: Emergence

The Enterprise becoming sentient is a solid starting point for a story, and even the idea of the holodeck acting as a kind of subconscious for the emerging mind of the Enterprise is really promising, but its all filtered through a pretty by-the-book procedural structure. The “weird” stuff isn’t strange enough to sufficiently spice up the otherwise standard approach. If the plot flowed naturally from the premise this coulda been a real cool one.
