If you are interested in the story of some guy who, for a few days, thinks his dad might be a main character from TNG, I’ve got the episode for you. Otherwise “Bloodlines” has basically nothing to offer.
Finally, what we’ve all been patiently awaiting: a follow up to that 1st season episode no one really cares about. Bok is back, and he says he’s going to kill Picard’s son! No real follow up to Conspiracy, but we get a Bok Returns episode. Thanks, writers.Wait, Picard has a son? Of course he does, its season 7. Safe to assume every character has a secret son.So they seek out this guy and beam him up right as his cave was collapsing. Sure, writers, why not throw in some insane coincidence for no reason.They run the tests and he really is Picard’s son there’s no way anything else is going on.So Picard shows him one of his favorite sticks. His son says where he’s from they only care about survival, and sticks are just a luxury. Bok appears in Picard’s room and says in case you forgot, I’m going to kill your son soon.Picard’s son gets a little shaky. Bok shows up again to say yo seriously I’m going to kill your son really soon.His son gets more shaky.the ol’ heart-to-heart-interrupted-by-bald-joke trope.Bok says he’s for real seriously going to kill Picard’s son REALLY SOON.But he gives Picard enough time to get on board and reveal that Jason is not really his son!!!!sorry kid, you almost had a cool dad.But then Picard gives him his stick anyway.
