[TNG] The Pegasus

[TNG] Season 7, Episode 12: The Pegasus

Rating: 4

Star Trek loves a crew member’s old captain going rogue, and Pegasus is probably the best example of that type of episode. The socio-political intrigue is solid, and the stakes are high. There’s also some decent loyalty-vs.-what’s-right stuff, but that’s sort of a requirement for a Bad Captain episode. The story works best because it’s centered on Riker dealing with a past mistake, the details of which lend a nice scope to Riker’s overall character arc. It doesn’t hurt that Terry O’Quinn is there, either.
