I guess the only way a premise this stupid could work is if it was *excessively* charming, but it is not. The most I can say for it is that Rascals also isn’t quite as terrible as one might assume based on the stupid premise? Still, the little bits of emotional or thematic juice the writers try to wring out of the idea are sabotaged by the middling to bad performances of the child actors.
