Enterprise comes across a Dyson sphere. Its a giant inside-out planet encasing a gooey star center.
An old Federation ship crashed on it.
Some guy was stuck inside the transporter buffer.
Nice! I’ll get to see two of my favorite engineers be friends!
uh oh Scotty is talking about diapers.
Scotty feels useless :'(
Data roleplays a scene from By Any Other Name for Scotty.
Since Scotty was all set to retire before his Dyson Sphere fiasco, you’d think he would have engaged with the idea of no longer being “useful,” but we’re gonna let it slide ’cause his talk with Picard is a great scene.
Picard guilts Geordi into taking Scotty on a ‘lil mission, where they discuss a pretty labored metaphor about the utility of old ships.
It’s about time for the stakes to be raised.
Scotty uses his old-timey methods to save everyone!
They give Scotty a shuttle so he can float around alone. Very sad ending…
…But then Geordi smiles!
