[VOY] Season 4, Episode 25: One
Rating: 2
This is one of those crew-member-alone-on-the-ship episodes. There aren’t a ton of those, but they all feel very similar. It’s a pretty good fit for where Seven is at as a person, but not enough to save us from the very predictable plot developments. This kind of thing only works if there’s an effectively creepy mood or the character work is exceptional, and neither of those occur in “One.”

Notes:
Seven is practicing talking to people in the holodeck but she still sucks at it.
When Voyager tries to cross a big nebula that’s in the way, it gives everyone headaches and starts to burn them.
So everyone except Seven and the Doctor go to sleep in some tubes. There’s something wet at the bottom of Paris’ tube.
Wha? Paris keeps trying to crawl out of his tube. How does he even wake up?
Seven and the Doctor aren’t really getting along.
Stuff in the ship keeps malfunctioning, and The Doctor’s mobile emitter starts to go out leaving Seven to run the whole ship.
Seven meets a new friend in the nebula. He’s creepy.
The ship isn’t detecting Seven’s new friend, and The Doctor thinks maybe he has some kind of cloak but since we’ve seen Star Trek before, we know she’s just losing her mind.
She goes around looking for him, and she starts hearing voices.
She confronts the imaginary guy but then the Doctor snaps her out of it.
So then the emitter breaks again.
Seven has to run around fixing things while trying to ignore her visions.
She ends up transferring life support for herself to get the ship out of the nebula in time.
But then everything is cool.
She even tries to talk to non holograms.
