If you’re a Barclay fan then you should certainly check this one out. It’s kinda fun in that awkward not actually fun way Barclay can be. There are some theatrics. A mysterious probe. A lazy space god, etc etc. Y’know, star trek stuff.

Enterprise has to fix their telescope.
But then Barclay gets hit by some light!
He gives medical advice to Crusher.
Enterprise gets antagonized by a probe-thing…
but Barclay saves the day??
Ok ok we get it, he’s really smart now.
Barclay gets irritated that the computer is so slow, so he takes over for it, and it looks pretttty cool.
Once again Barclay is making people a little uncomfortable, so they try to figure out a way to get him out of the ship computer.
Troi goes to tell him that Picard will do anything to stop him. They were tryin’ to keep that on the down low, Troi
Barclay creates a sub-space distortion to take them to the center of the galaxy.
Of course, this is Star Trek, so there’s a giant face there. Barclay explains that these aliens are like lazy or something so they just bring new aliens to them, by giving one of them super powers.
And then Barclay’s back to his stupid ‘ol self.
