[DS9] Season 4, Episode 5: Indiscretion
Rating: 2
Deep Space Nine writers really like throwing Kira and Dukat together, and I understand why. Ostensibly they’re bitter enemies, but there’s enough nuance to both characters for some potentially compelling chemistry. Sometimes they pull it off, but I think Nana Visitor’s gives a weaker than normal performance here, and the pretty standard plotting doesn’t help “Indiscretion”.

Notes:
A Cardassian ship carrying one of Kira’s old friends went missing a while back and a bald man thinks he might know where it went.
The Cardassians get wind of this and want to send someone along, and of course it’s Dukat. Not that we’re complaining.
The sub-plot is that Kassidy is moving to DS9 and Sisko isn’t totally excited at first…
Kira and Dukat find the ship
Turns out this is a personal mission for Dukat. He had a Bajoran lady friend on the ship.
Kira looks at a device and it points her to where the survivors might have gone
Kira laughs. It’s even worse than it looks.
Dukat also had a daughter on the ship and he says he’s gonna kill her. No one can know about her. Darrrk
Kira puts forth a crazy idea: Maybe Dukat shouldn’t kill his daughter.
They find her. She’s now a prisoner of the Breen!
They go to rescue all the prisoners. Kira finds out her friend died.
Dukat finds his daughter, Ziyal. He decides not to kill her.
