[VOY] Season 4, Episode 1: Scorpion, Part II
Rating: 3
Scorpion Part 2 is kind of about wrapping up Part 1’s storyline, but mostly the episode goes to a lot of effort to get Seven of Nine to stick around. There’s a lot of plot for plot’s sake, and not a whole lot of tension. I don’t know, you should watch it for continuity, at least.

Notes:

The Doctor continued to work on the nano probes that can kill species 8472. He uses them to save Harry.

The Borg think it would be easier to communicate with Janeway and Tuvok if they temporarily link with them. Janeway suggests using a Borg representative like in that episode of TNG you may have heard of.

The Borg beamed over Janeway, Tuvok, 7 of 9 and a hand full of drones over to Voyager before the cube was destroyed.

So Chakotay gets down to doing what he does best – screwing things up. It isn’t actually that ridiculous of a position – he doesn’t want to take the five days to meet up with another Borg cube, so he breaks the alliance… well ok, maybe it’s not that great of a plan.

Voyager gets sucked into the portal. It takes them to where species 8472 live. It’s some kind of goo dimension or something.

We get a tiny bit more into species 8472’s motives. They like purity and the Borg came into their space and messed things up or something, don’t worry about it, it doesn’t matter.

Voyager destroys more ships. 7 of 9 gets word from the collective that species 8472 retreats back into their own space.

But then Janeway gives the code word to Chakotay to plug himself into her mind. He tries to appeal to her humanity, but it doesn’t work.
