[TNG] Season 3, Episode 24: Menage a Troi
This episode is responsible for some of the lame developments with the Ferengi. It’s also a comedy episode that isn’t really funny.

Notes:

A Betazoid guy explains that they can’t read Ferengi. I knew Troi was full of it when she was acting like she could sense their thoughts in previous episodes.

Troi told her mother that Riker is just a friend, and in one of the movies Troi says she never kissed Riker while he had a beard. Even more evidence that she’s a liar

Lwaxana convinces the Ferengi to release the other two on account of Troi being useless and Riker causing diplomatic trouble with Starfleet. Why wouldn’t Troi cause trouble with Starfleet just as much?

After getting Troi and Riker back, they try to get Lwaxana back, but she acts like she likes it there

Troi explains to Picard that she wants Picard to act like he loves her, and threaten to kill them if they don’t give her back. Why go through the charade of pretending to be former lovers? Why not just threaten to kill them?
