[TNG] Season 3, Episode 23: Sarek
Rating: 2
It’s cool to see Sarek again, but this is a pretty standard plot, with some silly things mixed in.

Notes:
There’s another situation where only one diplomat in the whole galaxy is capable of settling a dispute. But THIS time it’s Sarek!
Wesley and Geordi start to fight. Wesley brings up Geordi’s holodeck girlfriend. Low blow, man.
They hold a Mozart concert where they play Brahms. I guess O’Brien wasn’t good enough to play cello on this one.
Uh oh it makes Sarek cry!
Beverly slaps Wesley!
Then there’s a big fight in 10-forward
Beverly says it’s all because of Sarek’s rare medical condition. He’s having a hard time controlling emotions, and he’s psychically projecting emotions on other people.
At first Sarek won’t admit he has a problem, but Picard gets through to him.
Through a mind meld, Sarek can gain the stability he needs to go through with the negotiations, but it will make it so Picard has to endure everything Sarek has been holding inside of him.
The writers figured that since they have a Patrick Stewart, they might as well come up with the most ridiculously hard scene to act, like expressing every emotion, on an intense level, simultaneously. It looks something like this.
Everything works out though.
