Enterprise finds a guy named Lokai floating around in a Starfleet shuttle. He says he was just borrowing it

Then another guy, Bele, from the same species shows up. He crashed his ship into Enterprise, transporting himself on board right before exploding, and then he acts like it’s a perfectly normal way to make an entrance

These two guys hate each other/wear gloves

Every time they go to red alert they do a goofy quick zoom in and out of the red light. There are some cool directing choices made in this episode, but this isn’t one of them

Bele wants to take Lokai back to his home world to face charges. Lokai says he was just fighting oppressors and that his people, those who have white on their right half, are treated like second class citizens and were once slaves

If Bele thinks really hard he can drive the ship

Kirk says he’ll just blow up Enterprise. I love the sequence of going through all the voice authorizations. The final one is ” Code zero-zero-zero-destruct-zero.” Bele eventually gives in

Spock tells Bele that he’s the same species as Lokai. He doesn’t like it

Bele figures out how to shut down the self-destruct, and he takes Enterprise to his home world. When they get there everyone’s dead. The two groups killed each other with all their hate

Bele and Lokai decide to fight some more

They chase each other around and then beam down to the planet so they can fight some more
