[DS9] Season 3, Episode 14: Heart of Stone

This episode should probably be watched to see the introduction of the new direction they’re taking Nog. So far, I think I like this development. They also continue the direction of the Odo/Kira relationship, which we’re not fans of.

Odo gets mad at Kira for not asking him about the dinner parties
Nog wants to join starfleet!
Odo and Kira were chasing a Maquis person but then Kira gets stuck by a weird rock
While Odo was away the Maquis person shot at Kira and ran off
I think this is the first time they show Rom being good at fixing things, which ends up being a big part of his character.
The rock keeps growing! They can’t figure out how to break it
They have Nog count things to see if he’s starfleet material
Odo cheers Kira up by telling her the story about how his name means “nothing”.
Also he says he loves her
Sisko agrees to help Nog apply to starfleet academy.
Odo figures out that the phaser marks don’t quite line up in Kira’s story. He’s also suspicious about Kira saying that she loves him back.
Turns out it was the changeling. She wanted to see what was keeping Odo from returning to the great link. Instead of pretending to be Kira dying, eliminating Odo’s reason for staying, why not just really kill Kira? I guess the changelings weren’t thinking about the poor tv audience.
