[ENT] Season 3, Episode 8: Twilight
A lot of people complain about this episode’s “reset button,” but that criticism isn’t precisely why I tend not to like these kinds of stories. The “reset button” at the end wasn’t the problem, it was the fact that you knew it had to happen from 2 minutes into the episode. But not every story has to involve mystery and suspense, and this one is more about laying out the stakes for the Xindi war, and revealing something about the characters. It can be a little depressing that while trying to show us how everything will go wrong without Archer, they implicitly make everyone else look a little incompetent by completely failing without him. The episode ends up being interesting enough to earn a 3 from us.

Notes:

She tells him about how he saved her from an anomaly and he ended up with parasites in his brain. The parasites make it so he can’t make new memories

Archer reconnects with Enterprise who is keepin up the fight. Reed’s sporting a mirror-universe look

They figure out that when they remove the stuff from Archer’s brain, it disappears in the past too. When this information is revealed the episode should end about 2 minutes later, because now everyone knows where it’s going. But instead there’s about 10 minutes left…
