[VOY] Season 2, Episode 23 (Netflix: S2 E23): The Thaw
Rating: 1
They managed to make an episode that is both silly and depressing, which isn’t an easy combination to do. It’s also not fun at all to watch. They may have been too effective in making this episode feel like a nightmare. They cover the issue of fear, but it’s mainly just a lot of fear related catch phrases.

Notes:
Paris says “the ship was built for combat performance”, and that “nobody figured it would take any long trips”. I thought the opposite was true. Maybe he’s lying
They find some people that are in some kind of mental landscape that they were suppose to come out of 4 years ago. So they go in because there’s no way they could get trapped, right?
There’s a bunch weirdos. It’s painful to watch the goofiness
And Michael McKean! He’s the manifestation of their fear
Kim almost gets his head chopped off
Then they make him old
Then they make him a baby. I don’t think this baby is acting. I think he’s really freaked out. This is baby abuse!
It’s really cool, and a huge relief when the Doctor comes in and stops the crazy stupid stuff going on
The Doctor starts to negotiate with the fear clown. After way too much time, they decide to trade Janeway for the hostages
But then Janeway was just a hologram.
