[VOY] Season 2, Episode 14 (Netflix: S2 E14): Alliances

This one features the Kazon which will automatically turn people off, but it has appropriate themes for a 2nd season Voyager episode. One of the best premises for Voyager was that they would be in an area which would challenge how strictly they should follow Starfleet regulations. This episode is one of the best in dealing with this. We also get to see Seska again, and she’s still acting very Cardassian, which is cool. –

With relentless Kazon attacks, some Maquis animosity resurfaces
Chakotay thinks they need to adopt more Maquis strategies if they’re going to make it. He wants to make an alliance with some of the Kazon
Janeway goes to Tuvok for guidance. He reminds her about Star Trek 6 and shows her his flower
They decide to try an alliance with Seska cause she’s a recurring character that needs another appearance
Neelix tries to help someone solve a puzzle
Cullah’s not great at negotiating. He blows it
Neelix meets a group of the Trabe, who are the group that the Kazon rebelled against
The Trabe have a lot of ships
Janeway thinks the Trabe might be cool allies
Jonas is trying to secretly get in contact with Seska!
With the new alliance between the Trabe and Voyager, they call a meeting with all the Kazon to scare them into peace
The Trabe ambush the meeting but the Kazon survive by hiding behind a table
Janeway says their principles are really the best allies they could have. eeh, not really. I think she’s just trying to make herself feel better
