Notes:
Enterprise is transporting a young leader/peace maker, named Salia, to a waring planet
Wesley becomes mesmerized by Salia and she really likes his magnet.
Data explains that the planet they’re going to has one side always facing the sun and one that’s always dark. This caused the two sides to produce very different people groups. I thought this was an interesting concept
Salia’s protector, Anya, turns into Shelly from Twin Peaks when she’s trying to relate to Salia.
Then she turns into some kind of little thing. I guess she’s trying to be lovable? Maybe I’m reading too much into her shape shifting. Maybe she just likes to turn into different stuff all the time.
Wesley talks to GEORDI about his girl problem. Geordi says he doesn’t have time for this.
Wesley needs to talk to someone, so his next choice is Worf? Worf makes a weird noise
Data gives his two cents. Wesley seems to be collecting advice from exactly the wrong people
Wesley finally seeks advice from Riker. That makes more sense…Actually, come to think of it, that’s a bad idea too. I guess there really isn’t anyone on Enterprise that Wesley can go to.
Guinan: “Shut up, kid”
- Wesley goes to Salia’s door and stands there like a dork while a security guard observes the whole thing. Salia saves him by asking him to come in to show her how to use the food replicator. Wesley explains how simple it is. Shut up Wesley, that was just an excuse to make you look less stupid.
Anya goes to sickbay and wants to kill a patient because she doesn’t want Salia to catch the disease
Pulaski stands in front of the patient being threatened
Wesley takes Salia to the holodeck. He says they’ve explored 19% of the galaxy. Didn’t they say it was 11% in the first season? The federation’s been busy
Worf and Anya have a school-yard-type face off about being a protector and who would win in a fight. By the end of the episode they earn each other’s respect, which is neat
Picard says Wesley isn’t allowed to see Salia again, because her guardian is a total psycho
They still have Battleship in the future. It’s still probably not all that much fun when you play by yourself
Wesley ends up seeing Salia again, and at a very close range
But then Anya comes and turns into a monster again!
Then Salia turns into a doofus-looking monster!
Wesley comes to terms with Salia not being humanish and they say goodbye to each other
