This episode may annoy Star Trek fans due to how emotional T’Pol gets, which Vulcans aren’t really supposed to do. I think they did a decent job of creating a mystery surrounding a fugitive character.

T’Pol has to capture a smuggler that she’s been hunting for a long time
For the sub-plot they make it seem like Trip is really out of his depth as captain. He always seemed good at it before
The guy starts to sound like a nice guy. He even has a tiny family
Trip pretends to be Archer
T’Pol questions whether the Vulcans are in the right. She forgot about the time she killed his partner
Then he escapes and it turns out he was smuggling dangerous stuff. Don’t worry, they get him back
T’Pol is best buds with Archer now
