[TOS] Season 1, Episode 17 (Netflix: S1 E18): The Squire of Gothos
Rating: 2
–
“The Squire of Gothos” is another “godlike entity” story that doesn’t add a whole lot to what has become a genre of Trek episodes. Part of the problem is that the plot is essentially just a series of crazy challenges that Trelane presents without much of a build up or climax. The episode does provide a few nice moments, particularly from Spock, which are noted below.

Notes:
–

Trelane’s explanation of his matter rearranging technology is similar to the way Picard will later explain how the holodeck works.

Trelane: “Are you challenging me?” Spock: “I object to you. I object to intellect without discipline. I object to power without constructive purpose” Spock is cool in this episode
