[TOS] Season 1, Episode 13 (Netflix: S1 E14): The Conscience of the King
Rating: 2
This episode puts Kirk in an interesting situation, and has cool character moments. The main thing that makes it barely fall short of a 3 is how frustrating it can be to wait for Kirk to figure things out.

This was apparently Ronald Moore’s favorite episode of TOS. Whatever Ron.

Notes:
Kirk has an angry friend!
Hey that’s pretty cool. Oh, right we’re supposed to feel bad for this guy.
So Kirk should’ve basically figured out that Karidian is Kodos within the first 10 minutes.
The computer said this girl was 19 years old. The traveling theater cast a 19 year old to play Lady Macbeth? It almost seems like she was cast as Kirk’s love interest rather than a Lady Macbeth. weird
File under: Romance?
Oh no! that guy!
Riley has been poisoned!
It’s been painfully obvious for a while that Karidian is actually Kodos. Kirk acts like he isn’t quite sure yet. They should’ve modified Kirk’s position to something like “we need to be able to prove it.” That’s basically what he means, and it would’ve made him look better
Bones: “What if you decide he is Kodos? What then? Will you play God and carry his head through the corridors in triumph? That won’t bring back the dead Jim.” Kirk: “No. But they may rest easier.” Revenge!
File under: Revenge!
“Double Red Alert!”
Come on, Riley. Is that your best revenge face?
It was nice of the local high school theater club to let Star Trek borrow their sets
