[ENT] Season 2, Episode 5 (Netflix: S2 E5): A Night in Sickbay

I like the concept of an episode showcasing the events of a single night. This concept can be used to really build up to something (like in High Noon), or make a situation seem more significant. But in this episode they instead fill the night with all the weird stuff Phlox does, and Archer becoming more annoying.

They are following up on the episode involving the Kreetassans (the easily offended aliens). Archer offended them again. The episode just starting and Archer is already in a temper tantrum.

Porthos is sick! Archer decides to stay with him throughout the night

So we get to learn more about Phlox. The first thing we learn is that he has a ton of degrees

Then we learn that he has gross long toe nails. Cool!

And this happened

T’Pol points out that it probably wasn’t a great idea to bring Porthos on a diplomatic mission with aliens that are offended by everything just because Porthos needed some fresh air.
