We love looking at what other people have said about Star Trek, so we’ve compiled some of the ratings for season one of Voyager all in one place to compare. We took the ratings from a few different reviewers and calculated what their scores would be out of 100. Keep in mind that they originally didn’t rate the episodes with that exact scale, but we tried to accurately translate their rating. It’s also important to keep in mind that each reviewer may have different meanings behind their ratings. For example some people reserve the top score for only the best episodes ever made, while others give the top rating for episodes that are merely the best of the season.
First we have Trek.fm which is probably best known for their Star Trek podcasts, but they also write a lot of articles. For each episode we linked to their written reviews. We also looked at what Jordan Hoffman had to say, who is a regular contributor for StarTrek.com, and has reviewed everything in Star Trek. Another popular reviewer is Jamahl Epsicokhan who runs the review site Jammer’s Reviews. Next is Kethinov, who has also been through all the Star Trek shows. And last but not least we have the scores from The Delta Quadrant podcast, which is dedicated exclusively to Voyager. There are several hosts for The Delta Quadrant (TDQ), and they often have guest reviewers. We put down the scores for each person on that particular episode and averaged their scores.

So what’s the consensus on best episodes and worst episodes?
–
We’ll start with the worst. There wasn’t necessarily an episode that stood out as being especially bad, probably because of the shorter season, but everyone seems to agree that Cathexis (Episode 13) wasn’t that great. It earned an average score of 43.2.
–
For the best episodes there was a clear victor: Eye of the Needle (E6) received positive scores from everyone. Here’s the top five:
–
1. Eye of the Needle (E6) – 81.5
2. Prime Factors (E9) – 77.7
3. Faces (E14) – 71.7
4. State of Flux (E11) – 71.2
5. Caretaker (E1) – 70
4. State of Flux (E11) – 71.2
5. Caretaker (E1) – 70
–
Something of note – we were the only ones that didn’t love Faces (The one where Vidiians split B’Elanna’s human half and klingon half into two separate people). In fact we gave it a 1 out of 5, because it’s the goofiest thing you could think of, even if the Vidiians are interesting.
–
Other than that our favorites were pretty similar to the average. As a reminder here’s our top five of season one:
–
1. Prime Factors
2. Eye of the Needle
3. Caretaker
4. State of Flux
5. Time and Again
